Commercial Litigation
We have significant experience handling a diverse range of high-stakes, complex commercial disputes at all stages of the resolution process. In addition to our trial practice, we help position our clients to achieve their business objectives and we have built our firm's focus on aligning our interests with our clients.
Special Counsel
Our firm provides special counsel services to a wide range of businesses, law firms and fiduciaries. We frequently provide novel solutions to help resolve legal matters as outside general counsel, settlement or conflicts counsel, or local counsel and have a proven track record bringing aggressively contested matters to a favorable resolution prior to trial.
Financial Transactions
Our attorneys have represented banks, hedge funds, and other financial institutions in disputes involving complex financial instruments. Our attorneys have spent a large part of their legal career in nationally recognized financial litigation groups as well as in-house counsel for financial institutions. We understand the process of counseling financial institutions throughout the dispute process.
Litigation Finance
Using our firm's experience in litigation finance, we assist our clients in obtaining funding for litigation claims that help them effectuate their business goals through prosecution of meritorious claims even if facing a deep-pocketed opponent. Whether it is a single claim or a portfolio of claims that need funding, we ensure that our clients are able to maximize their litigation assets and optimize their enforcement strategies.
Our Firm
Our Firm's Philosophy
Our firm is devoted to helping businesses of all types and sizes, business fiduciaries, and individuals create strategies and manage complex and high-stakes legal situations. By utilizing our uniquely expansive legal and business background, we have built a successful track record of providing novel solutions to help address complex problems.
Our attorneys have all worked in private practice at well-regarded, large national and international law firms and have also had the unique experience of working as senior in-house counsel at large corporations, including a large non-profit organization and an international alternative investment manager with billions under management.
We strive to deliver unique strategies and unparalleled service to address complex legal issues and disputes. We have abandoned the use of a single outdated billable-hour model, and work to align our business with results – not time - in nearly every engagement. We take the extra time and effort, up-front, to shape valuable strategies that maximize the odds of a successful result.
Three Reasons to Choose Us
Billing Philosophy
When we formed our firm, we took the significant experience gained from national, well-regarded firms and looked to improve how clients interact with their lawyers. To be a zealous advocate, our focus needs to be on the issues, not on how much time it takes to address them. Nearly all of our matters include a form of alternative billing arrangement to align our firm's interests with our client's goals, and reward our firm on results, not time. These arrangements are unique to every matter and not just one-dimensional alternative fee arrangements.
Diverse Solutions
Our legal team is always prepared to address urgent legal matters that may arise with hands-on, comprehensive legal advice. We are experienced in handling a wide spectrum of commercial issues and legal disputes, including those that require complex commercial litigation, financial workouts and restructurings, alternative dispute resolution, or settlement, special, and general counsel services. We are adept at performing extensive due-diligence to understand the legal issues, developing legal strategies, and if needed, partnering with attorneys at various firms around the globe.
Investment in Relationships
One of the core benefits of a boutique firm is the ability to form long-lasting, dedicated relationships with our clients. We pride ourselves on not only getting to know our clients' businesses, but all about their families and personal interests. In order to understand what legal strategies work best to achieve our clients' business goals, we need to get to know the people driving the decision making process. Plus, it makes the whole experience more enjoyable for everyone even though the situations we are assisting with may be high-stakes and stressful.
